Nadia Batcha
Policy Advisor in the Office for Civil Rights
and Civil Liberties (CRCL) at the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security (DHS)
Nadia Batcha is a Policy Advisor in the
Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) at the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this capacity,
Nadia is involved with public outreach and engagement initiatives
with American Arab, Muslim, Sikh, South Asian, Somali, and
Middle Eastern and other ethnic and religious communities.
Prior to joining DHS CRCL, Nadia was a Section Chief of
the Policy and Implementation Branch of the Records Information
and Management Division at the United States Citizenship
and Immigration Services (USCIS). Before that, she was a
Policy Analyst with the Office of Policy and Strategy also
at USCIS. Nadia started her government career as an Asylum
Officer with the San Francisco Asylum Office.
Prior to joining the federal government, Nadia worked as
an Associate Attorney at Saul Ewing, where she was a member
of the litigation team focusing on bankruptcy litigation
issues. Nadia received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology
and Psychology from Cornell University and her Juris Doctor
from the University of Virginia School of Law. She is a
member of the Maryland State Bar.
