Ping Hsieh

Associate General Counsel of United Technologies Corporation

An-Ping Hsieh has been Associate General Counsel of United Technologies Corporation since February 2008, where he has global responsibility for all legal issues related to UTC’s merger and acquisition, antitrust, supply chain, and risk management activity.

Previously, Ping had served as Vice President and General Counsel of UTC Fire & Security, then a $5B division of UTC. In that role, Ping built a global legal services organization following UTC’s acquisition of Chubb plc in 2003 and continued to lead the acquisition and integration of significant acquisitions and joint ventures for the company. Earlier UTC positions included Deputy General Counsel for Otis Elevator Company and Vice President –Legal for Otis’ Asia Pacific region.

Ping joined United Technologies in 1996 from Digital Equipment Corporation, where he served as a corporate attorney in roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to that, he was a corporate attorney in private practice.

He also volunteers as a board member of the Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association, the Connecticut Lawyers’ Collaborative for Diversity, the Mark Twain House and the Greater Hartford Legal Aid (where he is also the Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee).

Ping is a 1982 graduate of Yale University and a 1986 graduate of Boston College Law School.
