Since graduating from law school in 1992,
Raja has enjoyed a diverse health law practice in areas
ranging from regulatory compliance to managed care to bankruptcy
and other litigation. Beginning his career in law firms,
Raja moved to the federal government, where he served as
a Senior Counsel in the Office of Inspector General (OIG)
for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In
that capacity, Raja represented the OIG in administrative
litigation, False Claims Act matters, Corporate Integrity
Agreement negotiations, and the issuance of Advisory Opinions.
Currently, Raja serves as CHW’s Associate General
Counsel for Regulatory Affairs in San Francisco, where he
provides legal services to CHW’s Compliance, Managed
Care, and Finance departments. He also serves as the Co-Editor-in-Chief
of the California Health Law News, and is Vice Chair of
the Publications Committee of the ABA Health Law Section.
Raja is a frequent speaker on various health law topics.
Raja graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. with Distinction
and then attended Cornell Law School, receiving a law degree
with Concentration in Business Law & Regulation. In
addition, Raja has an LL.M. with Distinction in Health Care
Law from the Georgetown University Law Center.
